My artwork develops from doing.  Inspiration may arise from a location, a sheet of good rag paper, a block of Styrofoam, a stack of books or a challenging idea.  Years of experience making artworks give me an abundance to draw from.  The painting exhibited here is from a series based on a conjecture made by a mathematician. On June 17, 1742, Christian Goldbach wrote a letter to Leonhard Euler suggesting that any even number ‘n’ greater than four is expressible as the sum of two odd primes. The designs I invented for this series are inspired by this statement.
